What is a Bike Share Program? A Bike Share program is a service in which bicycles are made available for shared use in an urban area.
Is Memphis ready for bike share? Bike share is a network of automated kiosks with bikes available for short-term use. One-time users or subscribers to the system just swipe a card, undock a bike, and head to a station nearest their destination. Described as ‘transit by bike,’ this new way of getting around is being implemented in cities across the country, from Minneapolis, MN to Des Moines, IA from Denver, CO to Chattanooga, TN. Will Memphis be the next city to join this list? Come learn how bike share works and what it takes to develop a bike share system. Take part in a discussion of what challenges and opportunities Memphis may face in becoming a bike share city.
